LECSF Club Swim Party & Meeting

The meeting will start at 2 pm. We will be voting on the proposed By-law Change mailed to Members separately.

 

Please call Lauren Sorrentino to confirm your attendance and what appetizer, salad or dessert you are bringing. The main course will be chicken and ribs. Please call by July 7th.

 

Bring your swim suits, towels and chairs to enjoy the fun, or come just for the meeting.

 

There are no dogs at this party. Dogs are welcome at our Annual Meeting in August.

The Liberty English Cocker Spaniel Fanciers will provide a barbecue lunch and drinks for members.  Liberty members need to let Jane know whether they are bringing an appetizer, salad or dessert.  A $5.00 donation fee from others would be appreciated.  Call Jane at the above number if you are staying for lunch so she has the proper count.  Call by May 8th, 2009.  Please bring chairs and x-pens.

 

At 11:00 a.m., we will have a conformation handling class.  We will also have demonstrations of agility, obedience, rally and hunting.  The afternoon match will start at 1:00 p.m.  Carol Brown is the judge.  Pre-entry is $7.00 and $10.00 the day of the match.  Make checks payable to LECSF, Inc.  The deadline for pre-entry is May 8th, 2009.

 

There will be a veterinarian on site to do blood draws for Optigen.  Go to www.optigen.com and pick the test or tests you want and write in the 20/20 code.  You receive a 5% discount on line; plus another 20% for the clinic for a total savings of 25%.    Pay by credit card, but bring a copy of your paperwork with you to be shipped with your blood.  LECSF, Inc. will ship all the blood.  A separate check for the blood draw fee should be made payable to LECSF, Inc.  Register for the blood draws by May 1st, 2009.  If you are testing more than one dog, copy the form.

 

We are also having a microchip clinic.  This is the American Kennel Club “CAR” chip and includes a lifetime registration in the price.  Register for this clinic by May 1st, 2009.

TO ALL ASSOCIATIONS:

All volunteers can enter and pick up their badges at the Exhibitor/Show Information Table. Please remind your volunteers that they must turn in their badges at the end of their shift so there will be badges for the next group of volunteers. We advice Associations to order at least 2 extra badges. If you need additional badges you can purchase them on Friday during setup. Badges are $5 for the weekend and can be shared by the volunteers as long as they are returned to the Exhibitor table.  We will have an exercise area for the animals that will be posted. Please clean up after your pet.  If your dog does have an accident in the building please clean up right away! All animals must stay by their booth- they cannot walk throughout the show. Accept for bathroom breaks.  However please feel free to take dogs outside for breaks and exercise.  All groups that are bringing animals must fill out a waiver form or have insurance on file with us.  Also must have a health form(s) for the animals they are bringing stating the animal has had its vaccinations and the name of their vet.  You can bring the health forms with you to the show. Conformation & Grooming Clinic

Learn the ins and outs of showing in the LECSF conformation and grooming clinic.  We will go over the rules and terms of the show ring and will show and explain the proper method of showing your dog in the ring. Then we will have a friendly show.  Before all this fun we will have a few members demonstrating the fine points of grooming.

These Hunting Tests are held under the Rules and Procedures of the American Kennel Club

All tests are open to all register-able breeds of flushing spaniels six months of age or older on the day of the hunting test.

There will be a limit of 40 dogs each day.  Entries will close if the limit is reached prior to the specified closing date.

Entries will close at 5:00pm (EST) Saturday, August 30, 2008 with the Hunt Test Secretary at the above address.  Drawing for the running order will be held at 8:00pm (EST) on Saturday, August 30, 2008 at the home of the Hunt Test Secretary.  If you wish to know your running order, or have any questions, please call or e-mail the Test Secretary in the evening before 9:30pm.  The running order will be emailed to all entrants that include an email address on the entry form.

Entry fees will be refunded in full for a bitch withdrawn because of coming in season, an entry canceled before the closing time, or for a dog withdrawn because of an injury or illness, or for a dog that has died.  A veterinary certificate is required for all health related refunds.

Pheasants and/or Chukars will be used for the Master and Senior Tests.  Chukars will be used for the Junior Tests.

The AKC and Liberty require that all people in the field wear BLAZE ORANGE clothing.

Severe correction or discipline will not be allowed on any part of the grounds.

Please be thoughtful and clean up after yourself and your dogs, this includes cigarette butts.  Treat the grounds with the utmost in respect.  We extend special thanks to Madeyln Yelton and Jeff Lyons for generously allowing us the use of Rebel Ridge Farms.

Lunch and refreshments will be available on the grounds.  Lunches will consist of sandwiches ordered from a local deli.

 

Directions To Hunting Test Site:

From Point North (off I-95):  Take Rt 896 South towards Glasgow.  Follow Rt 896 approximately 7.2 miles to Rt 71. Turn left onto Rt 71 (if you go over the canal, you have gone too far). Go 2.3 miles. Turn right onto Steele Road (which becomes Woods Road in MD). Go 1.4 miles. Turn right into Rebel Ridge Farms, Inc.

 

From Points South (off I-95):  Take exit for Rt 279 South. Follow Rt 279 for a few miles.  Turn left onto Rt 213 South. Follow Rt 213 for approximately 4.5 miles (if you go over the canal, you have gone too far). Turn left onto Elk Forest Road. Take an immediate right onto Knights Corner Road. Proceed 0.4 miles. Turn left onto Woods Road. Go 0.7 miles. Turn left to 295 Woods Road, Rebel Ridge Farms, Inc.

Annual LECSF Meeting and Picnic

This annual event combines a social event for the members, the annual meeting on LECSF business, the election of LECSF officers and board members, and BAER testing. By-law amendments will be discussed and a vote taken.
